Gouache

Gouache painting is my go-to medium when I travel — it’s wonderfully portable, vibrant, and perfectly suited to capturing fleeting moments of light and colour. These small studies are painted from life in the places that inspire me most: the quiet corners of Cornwall, the sunlit villages of France, and wherever my sketchbook happens to land.

Each piece is unique — a fresh, immediate response to a moment in time. I love the velvety texture of gouache, the way it dries to a soft matte finish and holds both energy and stillness in equal measure.

These paintings are sold unframed to make shipping simple, but framing can easily be arranged — and they look delicious once framed, glowing within a simple mount or box frame.
