Familia

This collection of paintings draws inspiration from old family photographs, offering an intimate glimpse into the passage of time. The essence of snapshot moments, tinged with a sweet melancholy that reflects the quiet resilience of life amidst the chaos of the 20th century.

During the act of painting, I try to meditate on each image through the tactile process of painting, utilizing physical materials to make marks and imbue them with meaning over a span of time. I find that ordinary scenes become infused with a sense of poignancy, I become detached from the events and people, allowing myself to become an observer, reflecting on the simple beauty found in the everyday.
