Yellow Wall

I was drawn to this façade in the south of France for its rhythm of windows and balconies, and the way the afternoon light cut across the surface — sharp, golden, and fleeting. The wall seemed to glow from within, the colours shifting and vibrating as the sun moved. I wanted to catch that moment before it faded — when shadows were deep and cool, and the reflections in the glass burned with cobalt blue.

I painted this with thick, textured strokes, letting the paint itself describe the warmth of the air and the roughness of the old plaster. It’s less about architecture and more about the pulse of light — the conversation between colour, shadow, and time.
