This painting was made in my kitchen on a rainy Saturday morning — one of those quiet, contented moments when the world feels small and peaceful. I was drawn to the rhythm of the everyday: the stack of dishes, the pots of herbs on the sill, the soft light filtering through the blinds. Outside, the rain was steady; inside, everything glowed with a gentle warmth.

I painted directly from life, letting the brushstrokes stay loose and honest — the steam, the reflections, the smell of coffee and wet earth just outside the window. It’s a portrait of an ordinary morning, but also of the calm joy that comes from simply being at home.
