Total Immersion

I swim in the sea every day, throughout the year, I love the freedom that it brings and the almost otherworldly feeling.  The unknown world beneath the water and the sense of flying and floating between two worlds.  You are part of something else and therefore I didn’t want the figures in these paintings to be whole, they are a glimpse and not completely submerged.  Colours and shapes are broken, refracted, and played with to give an impression of light through water, fluidity, and freedom.
